The Early Years

The Boston Celtics were founded in 1946 as one of the eight original teams in the Basketball Association of America (BAA). The Celtics have struggled to maintain their dominance in the 21st century, but they have still won one championship, in 2008. The team is currently led by Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart.
