David Schumacher, the 23-year-old German racing driver, has been diagnosed with a broken back after a collision in the Hockenheim DTM competition on Saturday.

The news was revealed by his father, former Formula One driver Ralf Schumacher, who had initially believed his son had avoided serious fractures. However, further medical examinations confirmed the extent of the injury.

David Schumacher is currently competing in the 2023 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) with Mercedes. He was involved in a high-impact collision with another driver, Thomas Preining, during the Hockenheim race.
